Caucasus Policy Brief is an independent, student-led platform dedicated to political analysis, commentary, and discussion on the Caucasus region and global affairs. It is not an official institution, academic journal, or think tank, but rather a beginner-friendly publishing space created to support students and emerging writers in developing and sharing their work.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create an accessible platform where students and young researchers can engage critically with political issues, express original ideas, and develop academic and analytical writing skills in a supportive environment.
While we strongly encourage a focus on the Caucasus region and Eastern Europe, we also welcome high-quality contributions on global political developments, recognizing that regional dynamics are closely connected to broader international processes.
What We Publish
We accept a wide range of submissions, including:
- Political analysis
- Opinion pieces
- Policy briefs
- Research-based commentary
- Personal essays
Our primary focus is the Caucasus region and Eastern Europe, including its political, social, and geopolitical developments. However, we also actively welcome content on global politics, international relations, and comparative political issues.
Although focused on politics, we also accept submissions from law, economics, and related fields, as long as the work connects to political issues or policy analysis.
Who We Are For
This platform is primarily designed for:
- Students
- First-time writers
- Young researchers
- Anyone interested in political writing and analysis
No prior publishing experience is required. We especially encourage beginners to submit their work, develop their ideas, and gain experience in structured political writing.
Our Values
We are guided by the following principles:
- Independence – We are not affiliated with any institution, political party, or organization
- Academic integrity – We value original, well-argued, and properly cited work
- Openness – We welcome diverse perspectives and constructive debate
- Critical thinking – We encourage analysis grounded in evidence and reasoning
- Respectful discourse – We do not tolerate hate speech, plagiarism, or misinformation
Editorial Approach
All submissions are reviewed by our editorial team. We may provide feedback and request revisions when necessary to improve clarity, structure, or argumentation before publication. We aim to support writers in strengthening their work and developing their analytical skills.
